Blanton, Leonard Ray b. April 10, 1930 d. November 22, 1996 Tennessee Governor, US Congressman. He was elected as a Democrat to represent Tennessee's 7th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1967 to 1973. He then served as Governor of Tennessee from 1975 until 1979. He was removed from office for selling pardons, and later served 23 months in prison after being convicted of conspiring to sell liquor licenses.
