Diego, José De b. April 16, 1866 d. October 17, 1918 Puerto Rican poet, speaker, teacher, legislator and patriot. De Diego started his political life in the Assembly of the Autonomist Party in Mayaguez in 1891. He desired the fusion of the Party with the National Autonomist Party.
