Vézina, Joseph b. June 9, 1849 d. October 5, 1924 Canadian orchestra conductor, band master, organist, choirmaster, music professor and composer. A native of the city of Québec, he founded and directed several formations of brass bands as well as the Symphonic Society of Quebec, in 1903, now called the “Orchestre symphonique de Québec,” the oldest of the still active Canadian orchestras.
