• Cole, Cyrenus   b. January 13, 1863  d. November 14, 1939
  US Congressman. He graduated from Pella's Central College in 1887 and became a newspaper reporter for the Des Moines Register, rising through its ranks to become City Editor and then Associate Editor. In 1898 Cole became part owner and Editor of the Cedar Rapids Republican, and he later founded and edited the Cedar Rapids Evening Times.
