Yost, Paul Edward b. June 30, 1919 d. May 27, 2007 Aviation Pioneer, Inventor. He is regarded as the father of modern-day hot air balloon flight. He is credited with making the first free flight hot-air balloon advance in efficiency by using propane rather than Hydrogen in October 1955. On April 13, 1963, along with a photographer, he piloted the first balloon flight across the English Channel.
