Boyd, Robert Richard 'Rope' b. October 1, 1919 d. September 7, 2004 Professional Baseball Player. A native of Potts Camp, Mississippi, the 5'10", and 170lbs, Boyd first played baseball with the Memphis Red Sox in the Negro League from 1947 to 1949. In 1950 he signed up to play in the major leagues and made his debut on September 8, 1951.
