Kelly, Thomas b. 1836 d. 1919 Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in County Mayo, Ireland, he served as a Private in Company I, 5th Infantry, US Army. On the morning of September 9, 1874, Private Kelly was a member a supply train with a small cavalry escort to the encampment of General Nelson Miles expedition force at Battle Creek, Texas. Leonard, Patrick Thomas b. 1828 d. March 1, 1905 Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in the United States Army during the Wars with the Plains Indians as a Corporal in Company A, 23rd United States Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery near Fort Hartsuff, Nebraska on August 26, 1876. His citation reads simply "Gallantry in charge on hostile Sioux". McPhelan, Robert d. February 1, 1884 Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Ireland, he served during the Wars with the Plains Indians as a Sergeant in Company E, 5th United States Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in the time period of October 21, 1876 to January 8, 1877 in the area of Cedar Creek, Montana. His citation reads simply "Gallantry in action".
