Bush, Vannevar b. March 11, 1890 d. June 28, 1974 Scientist. An electrical engineer and physicist, he was head of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1919 to 1938, the dean of engineering from 1932 to 1939, and president of the Carnegie Institute from 1939 to 1955.
