Maxham, Lowell Mason b. December 6, 1841 d. February 13, 1931 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company F, 7th Massachusetts Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 3, 1863 at Fredericksburg, Virginia. His citation reads "Though severely wounded and in the face of a deadly fire from the enemy at short-range, he rushed bravely forward and was among the first to enter the enemy's works on the crest of Marye's Heights and helped to plant his regimental colors there."
