• Ayer, Richard Small   b. October 9, 1829  d. December 14, 1896
  US Congressman. Served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Virginia's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1870 to 1871. Also served as a Delegate to the Virginia State Constitutional Convention from 1867 to 1868, and Member of the Maine State House of Representatives in 1888. (Bio by: K)
