Coveleski, Stanley Anthony 'Stan' b. July 13, 1889 d. March 20, 1984 Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. Born Stanislaus Kowalewski, he was a right handed pitcher who leaned his stills by throwing stones at a tin cans on a log. When he was 18 years old, his abilities caught the attention of the local semi-professional ball club, which invited him to pitch for them.
