Estey, George Peabody b. April 24, 1829 d. February 5, 1881 Civil War Union Brigadier General. At the the start of the Civil War he was a lawyer in practice when in enlisted and was commissioned Lieutenant Colonel in the 14th Ohio Infantry in 1861. In 1862, he was promoted Colonel in command of the 14th Ohio and engaged in actions in Kentucky and West Virginia. Foster, John Gray b. May 27, 1823 d. September 22, 1874 Civil War Union Major General. He graduated from West Point 1846 and served as an officer in the Engineer Corps during the Mexican War. When the Civil War broke out, he was a Major in command at Fort Moultrie and succeeded in transferring his garrison to Fort Sumter to support in defenses against the Confederates.
