Brigham, Lewis Alexander b. January 2, 1831 d. February 19, 1885 US Congressman. Born in New York Mills, New York, he attended the Whitestown Seminary in Whitesboro and graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton in 1849. Following independent law study he was admitted to the bar in 1855 and opened a legal practice in New York City, which he would maintain for the rest of his life while making his home in Bergen, New Jersey. Tuers, Jane d. 1834 Heroine and Patriot during the American Revolutionary War, she is recognized in history for the assistance she provided to prevent a British plan to take over West Point.
