Barbour, Donald 'Don' b. April 19, 1927 d. October 5, 1961 Musician. A native of Columbus, Indiana, Barbour was a member of the vocal group The Four Freshmen. Formed in Indianapolis in 1948, their ballads include "Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring", "It Could Happen To You", "Route 66", "Day By Day", "The Day Isn't Long Enough", and "How Can I Tell Her". Crockett, Larry Julian 'Crash' b. October 23, 1926 d. March 20, 1955 Race car driver. Nicknamed "Crash" because of frequent racing mishaps, Crockett qualified for his first Indianapolis 500 in 1954. He finished ninth and earned Rookie-of-the-Year honors. Tragically, he was killed during a sprint car race at the Langhorne (PA) Speedway the following spring. (Bio by: Warrick L.
