Davis, John James b. May 5, 1835 d. March 19, 1916 US Congressman. He was elected to represent West Virginia's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1871 to 1875. Goff, Nathan b. February 9, 1843 d. April 24, 1920 Civil War Veteran US Congressman, Presidential Cabinet Secretary, US Senator. Served during the Civil War as Major of the 3rd Virginia (Union) Volunteer Cavalry, which was made of of soldiers from the counties that eventually became West Virginia.
