Stringfellow, Douglas R. b. September 24, 1922 d. October 19, 1966 US Congressman. Elected to represent Utah's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1953 to 1955. A native of Draper, Utah, Stringfellow also served in the United States Army during World War II. He died in Long Beach, California. Wahlen, George Edward b. August 8, 1924 d. June 5, 2009 World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. A US Navy Hospital Corpsman Second Class (called Pharmacist's Mate at the time), he was decorated for heroism on Iwo Jima. Raised in Utah, Wahlen joined the Navy during WWII (initially wanting to be an aircraft mechanic), and was attached to the Second Battalion, 26th. Marines, in early 1945.
