Breckinridge, James Douglas b. 1781 d. May 6, 1849 US Congressman. Elected to represent Kentucky's 8th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1821 to 1823. Powers, Michael Riley 'Doc' b. September 22, 1870 d. April 26, 1909 Major League Baseball Player. He was an outstanding catcher in the American League in the Early 20th Century. Played With Louisville and Washington of the National League and the Philadelphia Athletics and Highlanders of the American League. Was Eddie Plank's personal catcher while he was with the A's. He died from internal injuries sustained while chasing a foul ball in Shibe Park's inaugural game, April 12, 1909.
