Muir, Charles H. b. March 19, 1877 d. February 23, 1959 US Army Major General. Known as "Uncle Charley", he was Commanding General of the 28th Division during World War I and beloved by the Iron Division doughboys. He led the 28th Division through victory after victory from the Marne to the Aisne, up the valley to the muddy little Aire, to the storming of Apremont, Chatel-Chehery and the brilliant maneuver of Le Chene Tondu. Muir Army Airfield Eastern Army Aviation Training Site (EAATS), Fort Indiantown, Pennsylvania, is named in his honor.
