Blue, Rupert b. May 30, 1867 d. April 12, 1948 United States Surgeon General. He attended the University of Virginia, and earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland. As Assistant Surgeon with the Marine Hospital Service Regular Corps, which was later known as the Public Health Service, he received honors for his work to eradicate the bubonic plague in San Francisco in 1905, and in the eradication of yellow fever in New Orleans in 1907. Blue, Victor b. December 6, 1865 d. January 22, 1928 Rear Admiral, United States Navy. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1887. He saw action in China during the Boxer Rebellion, and was advanced five numbers for his intelligence missions behind enemy lines in Cuba during the Spanish American War. He later served as Chief of the Bureau of Navigation for the United States Navy, and commanded the USS Texas from 1916 to 1919, which included duty in the British North Fleet.
