Aiken, David Wyatt b. March 17, 1828 d. April 6, 1887 Civil War Confederate Army Officer, US Congressman. He served in the Civil War as Colonel and commander of the 7th South Carolina Infantry, which he led in the Sring 1862 Peninsular Campaign, the September 17, 1862 Battle of Antietam (where he was shot through the lungs) and during the July 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, where his unit saw severe action in the Peach Orchard.
