Hemphill, Robert Witherspoon b. May 10, 1915 d. December 25, 1983 US Congressman. Hemphill served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Elected to represent South Carolina's 5th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1957 to 1964. Also served as a Member of the South Carolina State House of Representatives from 1947 to 1948, and Judge of the United States District Court in 1964.
