McCulloch, Henry Eustace b. December 6, 1816 d. March 12, 1895 Civil War Confederate Brigadier General. Born in Tennessee, he moved to Texas as a surveyor in 1835 and was elected a Captain in Gonzales Rangers during the Mexican War. With the secession of Texas from the Union in February 1861, he was appointed Colonel in command of the 1st Texas Cavalry Regiment.
