Wood, Henry b. March 3, 1869 d. August 19, 1944 Conductor. He made his performing debut at the age of 14, playing the organ at the Musicians' Church St Sepulchre-Newgate, the largest parish church in the City of London. Wood entered the Royal Academy of Music in 1886, where he composed light operas and cantatas, and began his career as an orchestral conductor in 1888.
