Goodwin, Philip Arnold b. January 20, 1882 d. June 6, 1937 US Congressman. Raised in Coxsackie, New York, he graduated from the Albany Business College in 1902 and was engaged in steel bridge construction in the state capital. In 1916 founded a successful lumber business in his hometown while also maintaining interests in banking, milling and equipment supplies. A Republican, Goodwin survived the Democratic landslide of the 1932 national elections and won the first of three consecutive terms in the US House of Representatives.
