Peerce, Jan b. June 3, 1904 d. December 15, 1984 Opera Singer. A premiere lyric tenor over a long career, he was also a well known radio and television performer. Born Jacob Pincus Perelmuth to Belarusian immigrant parents, he was raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, attended De Witt Clinton High School and Columbia University, and studied the violin from an early age.
