Bullock, Rufus Brown b. March 28, 1834 d. April 27, 1907 Georgia Governor. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Confederate Army, and was with Robert E. Lee as he surrendered at Appomattox. Bullock, elected in 1868, was the first elected Republican governor in Georgia, and the last until 2002. He resigned from office in 1871 amid scandal. Chamberlain, John Curtis b. June 5, 1772 d. December 8, 1834 US Congressman from New Hampshire. He graduated from Harvard in 1793, studied law and became an attorney in Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. He served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1802 to 1804.
