Chase, Samuel b. 1789 d. August 3, 1838 US Congressman. A New York native, he became an attorney and held various positions in local and county government, including the judicial position of Master in Chancery. From 1821 to 1829 he was Otsego County District Attorney. In 1826 Chase was elected to the US House of Representatives as a supporter of John Quincy Adams. Kenyon, Samuel P. b. 1846 d. June 14, 1884 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the Union Army at Augusta, New York. He served as a Quartermaster Sergeant. He was awarded the CMOH as a Private in Company B, 24th New York Cavalry for action on April 6, 1865 at Deatonsville (Sailor's Creek), Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of battle flag."
