French, Winsor Brown b. July 28, 1832 d. March 24, 1910 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. He was a lawyer in practice when commissioned in November 1861, a Captain in the 77th Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry. He with 77th Regiment saw action at Fair Oaks, Antietam, Fredericksburg and Gettysburg.
