Bagby Jr., Arthur Pendleton b. May 17, 1833 d. February 21, 1921 Civil War Confederate Army Officer. The son of Alabama Senator and Governor Arthur Pendleton Bagby, he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1852. After brief service in New York and Texas, he resigned from the army in 1853 to study and practice law. At the beginning of the Civil War, he was appointed Major of the 7th Texas Mounted Volunteers and rose to full Colonel in that unit by November of 1862.
