Maxwell, John b. June 26, 1874 d. November 13, 1931 Spanish-American War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in the United States Navy during the War with Spain as a Fireman Second Class on board the "USS Marblehead". He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery during the cutting of the cable leading from Cienfuegos, Cuba, on May 11, 1898. His citation reads "Facing the heavy fire of the enemy, Maxwell set an example of extraordinary bravery and coolness throughout this action." His Medal was awarded to him on July 7, 1899. Taber II, Thomas b. May 19, 1785 d. March 21, 1862 US Congressman. Represented New York's 5th District in the United States House of Representatives, having been elected to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Congressman Thomas J. Oakley.
