Ansorge, Martin Charles b. January 1, 1882 d. February 4, 1967 US Congressman. He served in the United States Army during World War I. He was elected as a Republican to represent New York's 21st Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1921 to 1923. Dryfoos, Orville b. November 8, 1912 d. May 25, 1963 Journalist, Publisher. The son-in-law of noted publisher Arthur Hays Sulzberger, he began his career as a reporter at the New York Times in 1942. Godowsky, Leopold b. February 13, 1870 d. November 21, 1938 Polish pianist, composer, and teacher. He has been described as the "Pianist of Pianists". He was teacher at the New York College of Music. He also worked in Broad Street Conservatory in Philadelphia, and in the Chicago Conservatory, where he headed the piano department. Kapp, Jack b. June 15, 1901 d. March 25, 1949 Businessman. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he founded the Kapp Record Company in New York with his brother David in 1955. The company licensed its records to London Records in England, before it was sold to MCA Records in 1967. Jack Kapp though is more notable for establishing the American Decca Records 1934. Tuchman, Barbara Wertheim b. January 30, 1912 d. February 6, 1989 Historian. She is best known for her work "The Guns of August", which chronicled the opening days of World War I. Published in 1962, the book received much critical acclaim, and became a best seller, garnering Barbra Tuchman the Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction. In 1970 she published "Stillwell and the American Experience in China", a biography of United States Army General Joseph "Vinegar Joe" Stillwell.
