Brandeis, Louis Dembitz b. November 13, 1856 d. October 5, 1941 American legal scholar, attorney and jurist, best known for his tenure as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1916–39). Brought action to desegregate the University of Kentucky and the Louisville and Jefferson County Public Schools.
