White, Samuel b. December, 1770 d. November 4, 1809 US Senator. Served two years as a Captain in the United States Army and also served in 1803 as the Adjutant General of Delaware. Appointed by Governor Richard Bassett of Delaware in 1801 as a Senator from Delaware to the United States Senate to fill a vacancy, and was sworn into office on February 28, 1801. Wilson, James Harrison b. September 2, 1837 d. February 23, 1925 Civil War Union Major General. He emerged from the Civil War as one of the most distiguished Cavalry commanders. After serving as a topographical engineer and aide during the first years of the war, General Harrison was promoted to field command in October 1863.
