Evans, Pvt. Samuel b. 1821 d. October 4, 1901 Crimean War Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Renfrewshire, Scotland, he served as a Private in the 19th Regiment a Foot, British Army. At Sevastopol, Crimea, on 13th April 1855, Private Evans volunteered to led a small party to repair an embrasure which was exposed near the enemy trench lines. Wilson, George b. April 29, 1886 d. April 22, 1926 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he served as a Private in the 2nd Battalion, Highland Light Infantry, British Army. On September 14, 1914, during the main Battle of the Aisne, Verneuill, France, Private Wilson went forward with a rifleman to try to locate a German machine-gun which was holding up the advance.
