Tse-Tung (Zedong), Mao b. December 26, 1893 d. September 9, 1976 Chinese Leader. Mao Zedong or Mao Tse-tung, was founder of the People's Republic of China. Mao was known for his Communist theories and ideas on revolutionary struggle. Of Hunanese peasant stock, Mao was trained in Chinese classics and later received some education.
