Katharine of Aragon b. December 16, 1485 d. January 7, 1536 British Monarch. Youngest surviving daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain and first wife of King Henry VIII. She was sent to England to marry Arthur, the frail Prince of Wales, in 1501 at the age of 16. She was widowed less than six months later. She then married Arthur's younger brother Henry shortly after his coronation in 1509. After several pregnancies, the only surviving child was the Princess Mary. Scarlett, Robert b. 1494 d. July 2, 1591 Sexton of Peterborough Cathedral. He claimed to have buried two members of each Peterborough household during his tenure. The queens interred by Scarlett included Catharine of Aragon, wife of Henry VIII, who died in 1535, and Mary, Queen of Scots, who was beheaded at Fotheringay in 1587, and first interred at Peterborough, though subsequently transported to Westminster Abbey. Born the daughter of King James V of Scotland and Mary of Guise at Linlithgow Palace, Scotland. James died within a week of Mary's birth and she was crowned queen of Scots.
