Glenn, John Francis b. November 2, 1829 d. January 8, 1905 Civil War Union Army Officer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was raised and educated there, entered the United States Army and served in the Mexican War. Johnson, Philip H. b. 1869 d. November, 1933 Architect. Johnson was a member of Philadelphia's republican 'machine' when he married ward boss Israel Durham's sister Margaret in 1902. Through Durham's connections, mayor Samuel Ashbridge entered the city into a "perpetual contract" with Johnson, giving him the title of City Architect until his death.
