He led his command in the December 1862 Fredericksburg Campaign and in the May 1864 Chancellorsville Campaign. Jenkins, Friend W. b. June 26, 1865 d. February 15, 1898 United States Naval Officer. A Lieutenant in the United States Navy, he was one of two officers killed in the sinking of the "USS Maine" in Havana harbor on February 15, 1898.
