Carman, Isaac Harrison b. November 17, 1841 d. June 3, 1919 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. His true name was Isaac Harrison Carman. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company A, 48th Ohio Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 22, 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi. His citation reads "Saved his regimental flag; also seized and threw a shell, with burning fuse, from among his comrades." Daugherty, Harry M. b. January 26, 1860 d. October 12, 1941 U.S. Attorney General (1921- 1924) under Harding. A key figure in the corruption scandals that shook the Harding Administration, Atty. Gen. Daugherty was subjected to a Senate investigation and was indicted for conspiracy to defraud the government, but was acquitted in 1927. Gardner, Mills b. January 30, 1830 d. February 20, 1910 U.S. Representative from Ohio 1877-1879, Attorney, and Politician. Mills Gardner left school at age 14 at which time he was employed in a dry goods store as a clerk. At the same time he was studying law at night with his uncle the Hon. Nelson Barrere of Hillsboro (the last Whig candidate for governor of Ohio). In 1855 he passed the bar and was elected the prosecuting attorney of Fayette County where he served two terms from 1855-1859. McMillen, Francis M. b. March 25, 1832 d. March 8, 1913 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant Major in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Sergeant in Company C, 110th Ohio Infantry for action on April 2, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag."
