Allen, William b. August 13, 1827 d. July 6, 1881 US Congressman. He attended and taught in the Ohio public school system. He was admitted to the bar in 1849 and began to practice law in 1850 in the town of Greenville, Ohio. He was the Darke County prosecuting attorney from 1850 to 1854. He was elected as a Democrat to the thirty-sixth and Thirty-Seventh US Congress from March 4, 1859 to March 3, 1863 and declined to run again in 1862. Anderson, Charles Marley b. January 5, 1845 d. December 28, 1908 US Congressman. During the Civil War he enlisted in the Union Army, and was mustered in as a Private in Company B, 71st Ohio Volunteer Infantry on March 15, 1865. Promoted to Corporal in December 1864, he served through the end of the conflict, and in post-War occupation duty, and was honorably mustered out on November 20, 1865 at San Antonio, Texas.
