Flick, Elmer b. January 11, 1876 d. January 9, 1971 Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. Born in Bedford, Ohio, he was known as "The Bedford Sheriff" and is recognized as one of the greatest all around performers of the "Dead Ball" Era. As a right fielder, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians from 1898 to 1910. He had a .315 lifetime batting average, 1,755 hits, 164 triples, 756 runs batted in and stole 330 bases in 13 major league seasons. After his retirement he was a scout for the Indians. King, Tom b. 1943 d. April 23, 2011 Rock Musician. He was a guitarist and founding member of the 1960s music group The Outsiders. While attending Cleveland's Shaw High School at the age of fifteen, he formed the group The Starfires which evolved into The Outsiders during the 1960s. Under the Capitol record label they scored a top-ten hit with their signature song "Time Won't Let Me" (reaching number 5 on the US Pop Chart in the Spring of 1966). Zimmer, Charles Louis 'Chief' b. November 23, 1860 d. August 22, 1949 Major League Baseball Player. Born in Marietta, Ohio and despite his nickname "Chief", he was not of American Indian descent.
