McQuagg, Sam b. November 11, 1935 d. January 3, 2009 Professional Race Car Driver. During his career on the NASCAR Circuit, McQuagg participated in 62 races and had 21 top 10 finishes. He was the winner of the 1966 Firecracker 400 and was named NASCAR Rookie of the Year in 1965. He was inducted into the Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame Association. Riddle, Elmer Ray b. July 31, 1914 d. May 14, 1984 Major League Baseball Player. Born in Columbus, Georgia, he was a right handed pitcher making his debut with the Cincinnati Reds on October 1, 1939.
