Harris, James b. June 27, 1916 d. October 7, 1944 He was awarded the US Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously. US Army second lieutenant and tank commander who while defending a battalion command post, left his tank to probe for the enemy in the darkness. Mortally wounded by machine gun bullets, he crawled back to his tank, and directed fire between two contending armored vehicles. He stood off the enemy until friendly tanks arrived and saved the post. Died of wounds. Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas, USA
