Miller, Emmett b. February 2, 1900 d. March 29, 1962 Country Singer. Miller began his career playing minstrel shows in the early 1920s. His first recordings were released in 1924 on the OKeh label. His singing style was unusual for its time, a type of yodeling that was often referred to as Miller's "trick voice." This style was an influence on early country stars such as Jimmie Rodgers and Bob Wills, among others.
