Ward, Lyman Munson b. October 6, 1836 d. January 19, 1909 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. At the age of seventeen, he moved with his family from southwestern New York to a farm south of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. After finishing his formal eduation, he began the study of law and continued until President Lincoln called for volunteers at the beginning of the Civil War.
