Redmon, William T. 'Billy' b. 1853 d. April 2, 1894 Major League Baseball Player. Billy Redmon played Major League baseball in the 1870s, debuting with the National Association's St. Louis Red Stockings on May 4th, 1875. He appeared in 19 games that year, playing mostly at shortstop. With the demise of the NA at the end of the 1875 season, and the formation of the National League in 1876, Redmon found himself back in the Minor Leagues the next season. Wampler, Louisiana Purchase b. August 20, 1902 d. June 18, 2003 American folk figure. She was the first baby to be born on the grounds of the 1904 World's Fair. Her father, who was a construction worker, was contracted to build the fair on the grounds at the time. Her name was derived from the official name of the fair. She died on June 18, 2003 two months short of her 101st birthday and 10 months short of the 100th anniversary of the fair.
