Anderson, Richard Heron b. October 7, 1821 d. June 26, 1879 Lieutenant General, CSA. Nicknamed "Fighting Dick" graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1842, a class that produced 22 Civil War generals from the 37 graduated that were alive when the war began. He began his career as a brevet second lieutenant with the 1st United States Dragoons. He was cited "for gallant and meritorious conduct in combat" while he fought with them during the Mexican war where he took part in the siege of Vera Cruz and the capture of Mexico City. Elliott Jr., Stephen b. October 26, 1830 d. February 21, 1866 Brigadier General, Confederate States Army. Pre-war served in the South Carolina Legislature and Captained the Beaufort Volunteer Artillery. Elliott was badly wounded in the battle of the Crater. Later he was wounded again near Bentonville. General Elliot was elected to the legislature at war's end, but exhausted by wounds and exposure, survived a few months.
