Abbitt, Watkins Moorman b. May 21, 1908 d. July 13, 1998 US Congressman. He was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1931 and was the Commonwealth Attorney of Appomattox County, Virginia from 1932 to 1948. In 1948 he was elected as a Democrat representing Virginia's 4th District in the United States House of Representatives, filling the vacancy caused by the death of Congressman Patrick H.
