Ehrlich, Paul b. March 14, 1854 d. August 20, 1915 Bacteriologist, physician and drug researcher. In 1908 he received the Nobel prize for medicine together with Elie Metchnikoff. 1910 he discovered the serum "Salvarsan" for the treatment of syphilis. He founded and directed an institute for medicine and serum research in Berlin that was later transferred to Frankfurt/Main and continues as the government institute "Paul Ehrlich Institut" today.
