Aitken, Robert Hope Moncrieff b. February 6, 1826 d. September 18, 1887 Indian Mutiny Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Cupar, Scotland, he served as a Lieutenant in the 13th Bengal Native Infantry, British Indian Army. During the defense of the Residency of Lucknow, India, from June 30 to November 22, 1857, Lieutenant Aitken on many occasions distinguished himself in actions against the enemy.
